If love was a crime, what would change in today’s society? Everything! Most of us would not hold ourselves hostage to goals and aspirations seldom met in accord to love because that would be a crime. Moreover, we could live our lives relinquished from anxiety, guilt, or the admiration of others who claim to know love because they would be criminals!
Holding onto burdens of love we were trained to bear from childhood would dissolve due to the fact that this would be a criminal act. No more needing to ambitiously detain notions you have never explored if love was a crime.
Dependency would be confined to oxygen, food, and shelter. If love was a crime, law breakers would be those of us who neglectfully depend upon others to honor vulnerabilities, protect secrets, and respect unions. You savages would be guilty of harboring a criminal. Decapitation of your dominant hand is the sentence for this type of love crime criminal.
On the other hand, if love was a crime would anything change in today’s society? No! Reasons being, many of us were reared without it, don’t know it within ourselves, and harbinger it through instant gratification. If love was a crime, the violation would be maintaining our daily routine as survivalist of the intimately weak.
Growing up in families devoid of love is cyclical like poverty and wealth. Hell, too many of us were reared by and amongst people we do not even know. Therefore, if love was a crime, you would not have to worry about breaking the law because the law in your life has been delusions of grandeur, family.
As for loving thyself, an abundance of people refuse to become journeymen for this endeavor. Outsourcing it by means of materialistic gains and aspirations for fame has become our mantra. Denial of self-love, the answer to what has not been, is our reflective response to what is seldom seen nor felt. So, if love was a crime, we could keep on doing what we are doing. Living for moments in time and searching for socioeconomic mobility fueled by self-hate because love is not a crime.
Instant gratification would continue to be normative in accordance to love. One dose of chase and two strokes of sex would equate to your love experience. With a splash of meaningless conversation, a few drinks, and a trip to “He respects me,” living for those moments would continue without penalty. Criminals break the laws and there are no laws against a consensual poke, pinch, or piece.
If love was a crime, prisons would be empty.
